Description of Committee:

COMMITTEE PURPOSE

The purpose of the Go Green, Landscape, Trails and Habitat (G2LTH) committee is to assist the Board of Directors in the following areas and to bring to the Board information on which action and decisions may be based:

-          Go Green and Sustainability

-          Landscape

-          Trails

-          Natural Habitat

The committee mission statement and goals are documented on the committee web page at the FHHOA website. The committee serves as a valuable liaison between the Board and the community within the areas of committee responsibility; towards this end, the committee functions as a critical conduit for two-way flow of information – bringing to the attention of the Board, the community desires and the grassroots feedback while at the same time communicating the Board perspectives to the community.

COMMITTEE STRUCTURE

The committee will consist of a Chair appointed by the President of the Board, a Secretary, appointed by the Chair of the committee, and additional members. The HOA General Manager and the Board Liaison to the committee are also members of the committee. The Board Liaison will be appointed by the President of the Board. If a Board Liaison has not been appointed by the President, the Chair of the committee will serve as the Board Liaison.

Committee membership will be documented on the committee web page at the FHHOA website.

COMMITTEE IN RELATION TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

In general, the Board Liaison will function as the conduit for information between the committee and the Board. The Board Liaison is expected to keep the Board updated on the progress made by the committee on its goals and of suggestions and recommendations that the committee makes. The committee will also provide periodic, focused presentations to the Board, especially on suggestions that are deemed by the committee to have a significant impact on the community. The Board may ask the committee to provide input on specific issues and topics within the areas of responsibility for the committee.

COMMITTEE MEETINGS

The committee is expected to meet once a month, on the first Wednesday of the month at 6:00 p.m., at the HOA offices.  Agendas and meeting minutes will be published on the committee web page. The Board Liaison will provide regular updates to the Board.

GOALS & ACTION PLAN

The committee will annually define a set of goals and action plan. These will be presented to the Board for Board approval. The goals, action plans and status updates will be maintained on the committee web page. The committee will function as a grassroots organization, providing the Board with a conduit for community feedback. As approved by the Board, the committee shall strive to reflect the community desires and the collective vision in its goals and action plans. When required, the committee may present directly to the community, with prior approval of the Board. The committee shall also serve as a conduit for Board direction, within the committee areas of responsibility, to the community.
