My name is Michelle Garland. I have lived in Forest Heights for three years.
I live with my significant other James Huggins and our combined family of 5 children, age 14, 10, 10 , 10 and 8. I have lived in Portland and vicinity all my life and enjoy the community setting of Forest Heights as well as it's proximity to many areas of Portland. Professionally, I am a Physician Assistant, speciializing in Orthopedics at the Portland Veterans Adminstration Hospital. I have worked at the VA for 20 years in various setting, adminstrative and clinical. In my spare time I enjoy reading, golf, racketball as well as getting together with friends and family. |

I am a native Oregonian, Oregon State Graduate and a resident of Forest Heights since 2001. I know many of the residents in our community from school activities and as a board member and registrar for Lincoln Youth Football. I have over twenty years experience as a Property Claims Insurance Adjuster. This occupation requires strong organizational abilities, communication skills and a working knowledge of building construction and related issues. I am currently in contact with many families in our community, I feel I would be able to represent a large number of our residents. My occupational skills could compliment the board review of any issues related to construction, home repairs and improvements as it pertains to the association and their bylaws.
Besides being on the Forest Heights Board of Directors, I am also serving as a community volunteer on the Forest Heights Parks & Recreation Committee. |

My husband, our two daughters (ages 7 and 10) and I have had the pleasure of living in Forest Heights since August of 2002. I was an Office Administrative Manager prior to becoming a work-at-home mom. I have enjoyed serving as the Volunteer Coordinator for the Forest Park Elementary School PTA for the past two years, and look forward to being Editor of the Forest Park Press in the Fall. I’ve also served as Chair of the décor committee for the Forest Park Foundation Annual Auction in 2006 and 2007. Recently I concluded a 3 year term as a Board Member of Journeys of the Heart Adoption Services, currently serve as an Elder at my church, and periodically I am a Medical Foster-Parent for Healing The Children.
Issues that impact our families and our neighborhood school are close to my heart; as is being part of a community where diverse needs are met. I welcome the opportunity to continue being supportively involved in my community by serving as a FHHOA Board Member, and I look forward to working towards maintaining and improving the positive qualities of Forest Heights in a fiscally responsible manner. |

My husband and I have lived in Forest Heights since 2000. We were drawn to this community because of the trails, views, sunsets and proximity to Forest Park and Portland.
I am a graduate of the University of Iowa. My professional work experience includes postions as a teacher, taxpreparer, corporate accountant and assistant controller.
I have served on the budget committee since its inception and regularly attended community meetings to better understand the issues in our community. I am pleased to now serve on the Board of Directors. |

My name is Patrick Jones and my wife, Susan Matlack Jones, and I have three grown children and two dogs. We moved to Forest Heights eight years ago.
I am a Project Manager for Multnomah County. I have developed Master Plans for some of my clients and I am a strong supporter of Sustainability and Green Management.
I have been active in Portland neighborhood associations, and have partnered with a number of agencies to achieve community goals. I am active in Forest Heights Committees.
I look forward to working on implementation of the Master Plan with emphasis on safety issues, increasing/improving recreational opportunities for our children, and improving accessibility.
I am a member of Project Managers Institute, Portland Chapter, and have a Project Management Consulting Business. |

I live in Forest Heights with my wife Cynthia, and my 2 sons Harrison and Sheldon, who attend Forest Park Elementary School and the Gilkey International School. I am the Quality Manager at a company that manufactures electronic medical devices. I am a Chartered Engineer, and have served on the West Coast Board of the Institution of Electrical Engineers. I love living in Forest Heights, Portland, and Oregon. I have been a very enthusiastic member of the FHHOA Parks and Recreation Committee, before being elected to the Forest Heights Board of directors in May 2008. I am now also a member of the Association Management Oversight Committee and Board Liaison to the Trails and Natural Habitat Committee. In serving my community, I would like to Improve …..
· Property values by completing appropriate community projects.
· Fiscal responsibility with our HOA dues and maximize value for our money
· Forest Heights by achieving some of the improvements described in the approved community master plan.
· Communications channels between the Board, committees and the homeowners
· The transportation system and the trails system. |

My wife, Suzanne, and I have lived in Forest Heights since 2003. We have three children (ages 7, 5, and 4) – two are enrolled at Forest Park Elementary school. My wife and I moved to Forest Heights because of the excellent schools and we are very committed to the school and the community. Suzanne is Vice President of the Forest Park Elementary School PTA. And although I spend most of my time as an Account Manager at Applied Materials, I participate in fundraisers, call centers, and charity work. Prior to Applied, I was a nuclear trained Naval Submarine Officer. I have a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the US Naval Academy and an MBA from Chaminade University.
I enjoy sailing, hiking, skiing, and playing with my kids. |
