Laurel and I moved to Forest Heights in January 2004. The Brownstown condominiums on Miller Road provided us with the opportunity to downsize from a large home with a large lot to a much smaller “footprint” in a smaller attractive community.

I have been the Finance Manager for The Oregon Zoo Foundation since 2000. I participated in the Trail and Finance committees with FHHOA upon moving here in 2004 and then became involved on the board of our condominium association. I have served as the Brownstone Homes Condominium Association (BHCA) Treasurer since 2007, serving additionally as Secretary during 2009.

I have lived in Forest Heights since 2001 with my wife Claudia and our daughter Haley who is a junior at Lincoln High. We chose this area because of the all the green space and walk the trails several times each week.

In 2008 I retired from Intel after almost 30 years in engineering and management positions. I have degrees in engineering and business, and I have previously served on three home owners boards. I am also currently on the board of the NW Fencing Center (the sport).

I live in Forest Heights with my wife Cynthia, and my 2 sons Harrison and Sheldon, who attend Forest Park Elementary School and the Gilkey International School. I am the Quality Manager at a company that manufactures electronic medical devices. I am a Chartered Engineer, and have served on the West Coast Board of the Institution of Electrical Engineers. I love living in Forest Heights, Portland, and Oregon. I have been a very enthusiastic member of the FHHOA Parks and Recreation Committee, before being elected to the Forest Heights Board of directors in May 2008. I am now also a member of the Association Management Oversight Committee and Board Liaison to the Trails and Natural Habitat Committee. In serving my community, I would like to improve:

· Property values by completing appropriate community projects.

· Fiscal responsibility with our HOA dues and maximize

value for our money

· Forest Heights by achieving some of the improvements described in the approved community master plan.

· Communications channels between the Board, committees and the homeowners

· The transportation system and the trails system.

Joseph Schutz

Joseph D. Schutz is Vice President of the Corporate Technology Group and Director of the Microprocessor Technology Lab for Intel Corporation. Schutz is currently responsible for research for future microprocessors. He manages about 250 researchers in this capacity.

Schutz joined Intel in August 1981. He was director of Microprocessor Design in the Portland Technology Development Group and managed the development of 12 microprocessor designs starting with versions of 386^TM microprocessor to members of the Pentium® 4 processor family.

He has lived in Forest Heights for eight years. His son Johannes is a fourth grader in Forest Park Elementary School. His son Joseph is working on a Computer Science degree. His wife Yvonne Frei MD has a Gynecology practice.

My Priorities

·           Help maintain the aesthetics and security of Forest Heights
  ·           Maintain, protect, and enhance property values
  ·           Improve fiscal responsibility with our HOA assessments
         and maximize value for our money
  ·           Improve the level of amenities in the community for all age
         groups.
