The Forest Heights Village Center became a reality in 2005, when developers Dwight Schwab and Phil Gentemann of GSP LLC put together their plan to develop the commercial site that had been dedicated in 1989 when the original Forest Heights plans were approved. While the original plans did not specify the layout or stores to be included, Phil and Dwight wanted to include businesses that provided desired services and enhanced life in Forest Heights .

The current mix of businesses, all of them on five year leases, which means they will be here for a while, has had a very positive influence on life in Forest Heights . The combination of restaurants, food store and service businesses has made the Village Center the gathering place for Forest Heights . It has become the height of social life and the place to meet. There is always activity in the Village Center.

Throughout the year, the Village Center has several events that attract people. There are community events such as Halloween and Christmas celebrations, summer music concerts, an art and craft show, and selected events such as the Thursday wine tasting at Quinn's. This has all been a great addition to the quality of life and sense of community in Forest Heights .
