Security Cameras

Our neighborhood has seen an increase in the number of front porch package thefts, car break-ins, and attempted burglaries in the past several months.  In addition to reporting these thefts to the police, a number of residents have installed some of the latest generation of outdoor security cameras.  These systems have dropped significantly in price during the past year or two, and when triggered by motion detection, record the activity, and notify you on your phone when there’s been an event.  Some of them replace your doorbell, while others are meant to be mounted onto the house.  Some of the devices require wired power, while others operate on a rechargeable battery for up to a few months. They are nearly all wi-fi enabled, to allow you to monitor your home while you’re away.
